NIFT
NIFT offers four-year undergraduate, as well astwo-year post-graduate, programs in the areas ofdesign, management, and technology. Theadmission involves two written examsdepending upon the type of program: Creative Ability Test (CAT) & General Ability Test(GAT).
NIFT organizes its own entrance exam yearly inIndia.The NIFT admission process comprisesthree stages:
• Candidates need to first appear for awritten test.
• Students who make it to the rank-list inthis test are then eligible to appear for thesituation test, and
• Then the personal interview round.

NIFT 2018 was conducted on January 21, 2018.
Eligibility Criteria:
For Bachelor Program:
Age: 23 years as on 1st October, 2017. The upper age limit will be relaxed by a period of 5(five) years for the candidates of SC/ST/PHP.
Qualification: For B.Des. (Fashion Design / LeatherDesign / Accessory Design / Textile Design/ Knitwear Design / Fashion Communication) & B.FTech. (Apparel Production)
• 10+2 examination from any recognized Central / State Board of Secondary Examination or
• General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London/ Cambridge/ Sri-Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level / International Baccalaureate (IB) or
• Any Public School/ Board/ University Examination in India or in Foreign Countries recognized by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to 10+2 system or
• A pass grade in the Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects or
• 3 or 4-years diploma recognized by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education.
For B.FTech. Program, candidates shouldhave knowledge of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects i.e. these subjects tobe studied by the candidate along with any ofthe above qualification.
For Master Programs:
Age: No age limit
Qualification:
• For Design, M.Des (Master of Design)
• Undergraduate Degree from any Institute / University recognized by law in India or
• Diploma in UG Design from NIFT/NID only.
• Undergraduate Diploma of minimum three year duration from NIFT / NID. For Management M.F.M (Master of Fashion Management)
• Undergraduate Degree from any Institute / University recognized by law in India or
• Undergraduate Diploma of minimum three years duration from NIFT / NID.
• For Technology M.F.Tech. (Master ofFashion Technology)
• B.F.Tech. from NIFT or
• B.E / B.Tech. from any Institute /University recognized by law in India.
For Admission in Design Courses both Bachelors & Masters, students need to takeboth Creative Ability Test (CAT) and the General Ability Test (GAT).
For other courses such as B.F Tech, M.FTech. and MFM, aspirants need to take only the GAT.
State Domicile Preferential Seats
Twenty percent (20%), i.e. 06 supernumerary seats in addition to 30 seats will beoffered for admission as State Domicile Preferential Seats to candidate who belong to the States where the following NIFT campuses are located i.e.:
• Patna, Bihar
• Kangra, Himachal Pradesh
• Kannur, Kerala
• Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh
• Shillong, Meghalaya
• Bhubaneswar, Odisha

*Thirty five percent (35%) seats within30 seats will be offered for admission asstate domicile preferential seats to the domicile candidates of Jammu & Kashmir(J&K).

NCHMCT-JEE 2018
NCHMCT JEE is an all India-level joint entrance examination for admission to 3-Year B.Sc. Hospitality and Hotel Administration program.
It is offered jointly by the National Council for Hotel Management & Catering Technology (NCHMCT), an autonomous body under Ministry of Tourism, Government of India and Indira Gandhi National Open University(IGNOU).
There are 21 Central Institutes of Hotel Management (IHMs) and 19 State Institutes of Hotel Management (SIHMs) that accept JEE scores. A part from these, there are around 15 affiliated private institutes of Hotel Managementwhich accept JEE scores.
The Council (NCHMCT) has till date trained more than 80,000 Hospitality Managers, Executives and other Operational personnel. Its alumni occupy key positions in hospitality industry and in academic institutions in India and abroad.
Date of Written Examination: NCHMCT-JEE2018 was held on 28 April.
B.Sc. Hospitality and Hotel Administration: The program equips student with all the required skills, knowledge and attitude to make a career in the booming hospitality sector.The program also involves in-depth laboratory work for students to acquire the required knowledge and skills in the operational areas ofFood Production, Food and Beverage Service,Front Office Operation and House Keeping. Eligibility:Qualifying Examination:
• A student passed in 10+2 system ofSenior Secondary examination or itsequivalent with English as one of thesubjects.
• Candidate must have passed English as asubject of study(core/elective/functional)in the qualifying examination.
• Those appearing in 10+2 or equivalentexamination can also appear in JEE 2018 on provisional basis.
Age Limit:
For candidates from General and OBC categories, upper age limit is 22 years as on 01.07.2018. In the case of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates, upper age limit is 25 years.

Entrance Test [CUET-(UG)]
Common University Entrance Test (CUET (UG) – 2022) will be conducted in 13 mediums across India for admission into the Undergraduate Programmes in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode for all the Central Universities (CUs) in India for the academic year 2022-23.

Eligibility : For appearing in the CUET (UG) there is no age limit for the candidates. The candidates who have passed the class 12th /equivalent examination or are appearing in 2022 irrespective of their age can appear in CUET (UG) - 2022 examination. However, the candidates will be required to fulfill the age criteria (if any) of the University (ies) in which they are desirous of taking admission.
